Sickboy Unveils New Exhibition: Metamorphosis

Renowned polymathic artist Sickboy is set to launch his latest solo exhibition, Metamorphosis, at The Muse Gallery in London on 5th September 2024 (Show runs from 30th August  to 22 September, PV 5th September 2024, 6-9pm)  This eagerly anticipated show (10 years since his last solo show in London) marks a pivotal moment in Sickboy's artistic journey, showcasing a profound evolution of his multidisciplinary work through a collection of new and deeply personal pieces.

Metamorphosis delves into the themes of change, rebirth, and the exploration of the human experience. The exhibition will feature a series of artworks that capture the fluidity and fragility of life. Visitors can expect a range of media, including striking translucent paper compositions that create a unique interplay of light and shadow as well as the pops of colour of Sickboys signature art pieces. 

Sickboy explains;

“After a recent accident and head injury I had a moment of clarity when I looked at an image of a butterfly at home. After trading it and filling it with beautiful words it inspired a whole set of new artworks on tracing paper. The injury and recovery had created a stylistically more simple artwork, sort of a return to the grassroots of my work.”

The show will also include drawings inspired by the idea of recovery and renewal as well as exploring and responding to the current political landscape. A digital piece ‘Full English Brexit’ will be installed in the Muse Gallery on 269 Portobello Road  for audiences to add their voice and see it become a piece of generative digital art.
