Mora’s practice centres on classical figuration and still life, with a sustained focus on the male body. Working through a slow, layered oil process, her paintings emerge from abstraction into ambiguous, fragmented forms that draw on the meditative strategies of Baroque painting. By positioning herself as painter and her partner as model, Mora reconsiders traditional dynamics of gaze, power, and spectatorship, reframing masculinity as intimate, tender, and at times passive. Cropped bodies, reflections, and mirrored surfaces destabilise fixed viewpoints and challenge conventional ideas of desire and beauty. Still life motifs—vessels, marbles, and reflective objects—act as metaphors for bodily fragility and identity, opening space for alternative subjectivities to surface.
